Cheniere Lake
This 3,000-acre lake located just outside of Monroe offers boating, fishing and RV camping with 7 boat launches, a bathhouse, a playground, and a lodge that is available for weddings and events.Black Bayou National Wildlife Refuge. This beautiful lake offers hiking, fishing, hunting, and canoeing, plus cypress trees, a visitor center with observation deck, and an arboretum. Canoe rentals are available on the first Saturday of each month from 9am -4pm.
Lake D’Arbonne State Park. Surrounded by pine forests, Lake D’Arbonne is a popular destination for fishing, swimming, water skiing, camping, and other outdoor recreation. The lake offers five fishing piers, a visitors center, swimming pool, a tennis complex, campsites, cabins, playgrounds, and a boat launch.
Moon Lake Recreation Area. The Moon Lake Recreation Area was completely remodeled and then reopened in the fall of 2007. The park is a local favorite for wake-boarders, jet-skiers, fishing and water enthusiast. Facilities at the Moon Lake Recreation Area include a water-borne comfort station, a 4-lane boat launch ramp, temporary boat slips for easy loading and unloading, picnic tables and more than 100 parking spaces. A privately owned marina is located near the recreation area. The Moon Lake Recreation Area is located off U.S. 165 and La. Hwy. 553 north of Monroe, Louisiana.
